SBR

SBR (Styrene-Butadiene Rubber) is a synthetic rubber made from styrene and butadiene, in a typical ratio of about 25% styrene and 75% butadiene. SBR is produced mainly in two forms: Virgin SBR granules (Solid SBR) New production Tires, rubber parts Recycled SBR granules (SBR Crumb) Crushed from old tires Mixed into plastic, construction materials Latex SBR (emulsion) Liquid Used as glue, coating, concrete additive.

Applications

Rubber industry - tires: The main raw material for the production of car, motorbike, bicycle tires Details such as gaskets, cushions, rubber tubes, etc. Plastic industry - improved fillers: Mixed with base plastics (PP, PE, PVC) to increase toughness, impact resistance As a reinforcement, reduce cracking, increase elasticity for materials Used in engineering plastics, plastic floors, toys, outdoor products Construction industry: Mixed into asphalt (Asphalt Rubber) to make rubberized roads As a waterproof layer, cushion layer in construction materials Recycled products: Used in rubber mats, sports fields, rubber tile cushions, etc.

Properties

High elasticity Similar to natural rubber, but more stable Good abrasion resistance Suitable for tires and contact surfaces Medium heat resistance Good at 70–100°C Resistant to water, mild acids Stable in humid, slightly acidic environments Weaker aging resistance than EPDM rubber Need to use additional additives if used outdoors for a long time Low cost Cheaper than natural rubber or special rubber
